Originally from Portage, Indiana, Ryan grew up playing roller hockey and ice hockey. Ryan played high school hockey, and left his senior year to play junior hockey for the Troy Eagles. He then went on to play junior hockey for the Toledo Cherokee. Ryan was recruited to play collegiate hockey for Concordia University Wisconsin (NCAA III).
Ryan began his coaching career with Concordia University as an Assistant Coach after his playing career. During this time he was also Associate Head Coach for Concordia’s JV hockey team, where he developed players for their opportunity at competing at the NCAA level.
Ryan continued to coach at multiple levels and age groups in the Milwaukee area. He coached Pre/Post U16’s & U18’s with the Milwaukee Phoenix Hockey Club. He also worked with multiple summer hockey camps and youth development camps, both as an on-ice instructor and strength and conditioning coordinator.
Ryan has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology with a focus in strength and conditioning. He is currently completing his Master’s in Applied Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition. He has worked as strength and conditioning coordinator/coach with many teams and athletes, ranging from youth to professional athletes in multiple sports. He currently is a Strength and Conditioning Coach with T3 Performance, where he also serves as Director of Youth Performance.
He currently resides in Westlake, Ohio with his fiance, Sarah and their dog, Ellie.
Ryan is passionate about giving back to hockey. He loves teaching and developing young athletes so they can have amazing opportunities to become a better athlete and person.
